IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
The Village’s emergency notification system, formerly known as OnSolve CodeRED, was discontinued in November 2025. The Village has since transitioned to a new platform, CodeRED by Crisis24. Unfortunately, contact information from the previous system could not be transferred to the new system.
This notification system is used to keep residents informed of important information, including:
- Water main repairs and service shut-offs
- Village events
- Construction projects
- Road closures
- Emergency situations affecting the Village
To continue receiving emergency and community notifications, all residents must re-register. Residents who wish to sign up are for CodeRed by Crisis 24 are asked to complete the registration form that is located at the bottom of this page and click the Code Red Image.
SHOVELING/SNOW BLOWING
Please do not throw snow back into the street after public works has completed their snow plowing. You may innocently be trying to cause the snow to melt faster, however the newly formed snow mound may create a hazard for unsuspecting drivers. Instead, we ask that you use the deflector on your snow blower to direct the snow onto the parkway. Pile it up, do not push it out.
PARKING BAN
Snow removal is vital to safe driving. After a snowfall of two inches (2”) or more, it is unlawful to park any vehicle, or to permit any vehicle to remain parked on the street until the snow has been removed, and provided that the snowfall has stopped. Observe “NO PARKING AFTER 2” SNOWFALL/TOW-AWAY ZONE” signs. The NO PARKING ban WILL be enforced! Cars parked illegally WILL be subject to being towed. The Public Works crew works long and hard to keep the Village streets clear and safe. We need and appreciate your cooperation.
Please avoid being subjected to a parking ticket fine and then the additional costs of towing this winter season. Obey the snow removal parking ban.
FALLING LEAVES:
When you start raking those colorful leaves, please refrain from raking them into the street. Although Public Works runs the street sweeper every week, the excess leaves blown from lawns cause blocked inlet and catch basin grates. This can lead to standing water in the curb gutters and flooding.
For new residents, leaves are to be placed in PAPER yard waste bags or garbage cans with a “Compost Only” sticker affixed to it. “Compost Only” stickers are available at the Village Office at no charge. Place full bags or garbage cans at the curb for Wednesday morning pickup.
RESIDENTS WITH LAWN SERVICE:
Please make sure your landscaping company does NOT blow grass clippings and leaves into the street. Please advise your landscaper to place grass clippings and leaves in a garbage can with a Compost Sticker (available at the Village Office free of charge) affixed to the can or to bag the leaves in paper yard waste bags.
